About Me

My photo
Born to artisan parents I grew up surrounded by the beauty of art & nature. My father an artist mostly working with pencil & charcoal. My mother a myriad artist some what like myself. They taught me how to appreciate the simple things in life. I'm a self-taught mixed metal jewelry artisan. Lost & searching in my late 20's I stumbled on what is now my passion... designing. Over the past six years my designs have evolved from simple bead stinging to "One of a Kind" mixed metal wearable art. I do not design to seek perfection for everything in life, even beauty has a flaw. Flaws are what sets us apart from everything & gives us our own uniqueness. The flaws I purposely overlook in each piece I create add to the beauty & depth of each design.

Slowly getting noticed by others.

My mixed metal (Copper & Brass) leather bracelet has caught the eye of a few people.

krisitmcmurry on Etsy e-mailed me last week letting me know that she made a treasury & had included one of my pieces in it. I was delightfully surprized when I saw my "Family" bracelet gathered with works of art from others. Her treasury is named "Christmas Morning" Thank-You Kristi for having me in your treasury.

I'm actually not quite sure what it means to be in someone's treasury as I am very new to Etsy, Artfire, Blogging & doing business other than at an art show. Slowly but surely I intend on learning the ropes in hope of any trusted advice one may want to share with me.

Yesterday (12-28-10) I open up my e-mail & again  someone has sent me a question pertaining to my "Family" bracelet. As I started to read this message I became very confused as it has nothing to do with my bracelet at all. It goes to show that even on Etsy, Artfire & a blog, one must be careful on who's sending them e-mails. This odd e-mail came from someone who claims to be an importer/exporter from China & wanted to try & sum up business. He sells a variety of jewelry. My question is: Why would he choose to e-mail me? I am not a person who sells bulk of a certain item. My work is all handcrafted from the two hands that now type this blog. I'm sure I'll end up getting more messages like this in the future which I'd love to know how to stop them.

I look forward to more people noticing my designs but I do not look forward to e-mails that are a waste of my time.

Again..... Thank-You Kristi McMurry for having me in your treasury:-)
